Role

Every day people with chest, heart and stroke conditions are leaving hospital scared and alone. You can be part of our mission to make sure that there is no life half lived in Scotland.

By joining Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) as a Community, Events & Corporate Fundraiser (3rd Party Events specialism) you can be the difference between people just surviving and really living.

You will be part of Scotland’s leading charity providing support to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live life to the full again. Our Community Support Service forms a nationwide network of local support groups, nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping families adjust to life with a heart or lung condition or after a stroke.

Organised, motivated and a confident communicator, you’ll be responsible for driving income and building relationships in your area, to ensure we have the funds needed to continue our lifechanging work. We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds including (but not limited to) events, marketing, fundraising and sales.

With creativity and ambition, you’ll be responsible for developing the 3rd Party Events strand of our income generation strategy. The focus will involve developing, growing and stewarding our key 3rd party events, such as Edinburgh Marathon Festival, Kiltwalks and Great Scottish Run. Managing volunteers and making links within your community will also be key - no two days will be the same!

You’ll be joining a hard-working and talented fundraising team, working closely with the Community, Corporate and Events Fundraising Manager as well as the wider fundraising team. You’ll cover the South region - these include the following postcodes DG, KA, ML and TD, so we welcome candidates based within the patch or those who live nearby, have a car and are willing to travel. We are looking for people with great organisational skills, energy, passion and enthusiasm, who is experienced at developing relationships, and can manage a busy and varied workload. This is a chance for you to channel your passion for relationship building to make a real impact on the health of people in Scotland.
