Hybrid: Dunfermline

Closing 14 July 2025
Advertised from 16 June 2025

Role

Carnegie UK is recruiting a Senior Communications and Public Affairs Officer.

We are an endowed charity and have worked to improve wellbeing in the UK and Ireland for over 100 years. Today we seek to influence public policy and practice, building on robust evidence and research to argue for change.

We are focussed on improving the people of the UK and Ireland’s collective wellbeing: ensuring everyone has what they need to live well now and in the future.

We are looking for a communications professional with a strong mix of media relations and public affairs skills.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an adaptable communicator with a strong knowledge of the UK and Ireland’s political and media landscape. The post holder will work with media, stakeholders, government and politicians, advancing the case for change to make a difference to people’s lives.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and writing skills and a strong professional network. This new post will have the opportunity to build and strengthen Carnegie UK’s relationships with policymakers and make the case for change across our communications channels. The right candidate will have the opportunity to use their professionalism and creativity to help us maximise our impact.

Carnegie UK offers a flexible and supportive working environment and exceptional terms and conditions. We operate a 35-hour working week and provide 5 paid days each year for volunteering. We aim for staff to spend two days a week (currently two days across Monday to Wednesday) in Andrew Carnegie House in Dunfermline, but for the right candidate we would be prepared to offer additional flexibility.

If you have the experience we are looking, then we’d love to hear from you.

Location: Hybrid arrangements with two days a week in Dunfermline. Additional flexibility could be offered for the right candidate.
