We are seeking a Therapeutic Counsellor – (6.5 hours/week) to join our Anchor Project (Women's Outreach Service) in Clackmannanshire. Funded by CORRA, this post aims to provide assessment, counselling and psychological support to parents affected by domestic abuse, substance use and associated mental health issues. The post holder will work directly with parents to build resilience, improve wellbeing, address the experience of and impact of domestic abuse, mental health and substance use, and support positive outcomes for parents, carers, children and families. The post holder will also contribute Circles' aims of responding to substance use, promoting recovery, and strengthening family and community wellbeing. We are looking for a skilled and empathetic professional with a post-graduate Diploma qualification in Counselling or be working towards relevant accreditation. A background in social work, social care, education or health is desirable. The successful candidate will have strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills, a good understanding of rights-based approaches and the challenges facing parents experiencing vulnerability, and a commitment to equality, inclusion and anti-discriminatory practice. This is a meaningful opportunity to be part of a supportive organisation dedicated to improving outcomes for parents, carers, children and families. We are also recruiting for a 22 hours/week Therapeutic Counsellor role to join our Anchor Addiewell project in Hamilton, covering North Lanarkshire. As reflected in the two Job Descriptions the roles have different settings and geographical areas that would need to be fulfilled to ensure local delivery and to meet the needs of the individuals the roles support.
