Renfrew YMCA is a locally based youth charity providing a needs led service for all young people of Renfrew, providing opportunities that due to deprivation, family circumstances and confidence they would not be able to undertake. We pride our self on our YMCA family and ensure each young person feels included, respected and welcome. Renfrew YMCA is the only core youth work organisation in Renfrew. An example of the projects that we facilitate are: Play rangers/ active play Youth clubs, Youth leadership projects, Inter-generational work Mentor projects, climate change, Experience and education projects, School partnerships, Detached work. We have just started work with Ukrainie refugees and the local resettlement team. We ensure that we are a fully needs led services and that our young people are at the heart of the development of all projects, we do this by having a youth committee that links into our board of trustees. Renfrew YMCA is based in the town centre of Renfrew, we deliver services and projects to the most in need and vulnerable children, young people and their families. We ensure that we support children with additional support needs through our ‘in it together approach’ by making sure we have low ratios and fully qualified and trained staff so that we are a fully inclusive service. We have just opened our multi sensory centre and we reach over 150 children and young through all our sessions weekly within our building, our multi sensory equipment allows all children and young people access to sensory equipment throughout our building. We support a further 40 families weekly and work with all 6 local schools supporting a further 60 children and young people. Renfrew YMCA are part of a third sector interface of local charities who are at the front in supporting children and young people's mental health and wellbeing.
