North West Carers Service provides support to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of unpaid carers of all ages in the Northwest of Glasgow. We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Family Wellbeing Worker (Whole Family Support) This role has been designed to complement the existing Family Wellbeing Worker position by focusing on preventative, strengths-based groupwork and whole-family wellbeing interventions, particularly for Parent Carers, Young Carers and Sibling Carers. The Family Wellbeing Worker (Whole Family Support) will develop and coordinate a programme of support that recognises the impact caring can have on the wellbeing of all family members. The postholder will deliver a whole-family model of support that promotes resilience, strengthens family relationships, reduces isolation and improves wellbeing outcomes for parent carers, siblings, children and young people. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and facilitating a range of family wellbeing groups, peer support opportunities, workshops, learning programmes and community-based activities that support families to build confidence, connect with others and improve their overall wellbeing. This role is an agile working role with blend of home/office/community settings dependant on service requirements. Please note a driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential as you will be required to travel to various locations and participate/lead on group work. Develop and implement a successful Young Carers Peer Mentoring pilot Develop a bank of volunteers and peer mentors to support initiatives Provide peer support activities for unpaid carers utilising volunteers where appropriate Develop a carer awareness course for volunteers and peer mentors Monitor, evaluate and produce reports for Peer Mentoring pilot – collate and collect data and qualitative information including impact statements Contribute to development of literature and promotional materials for social media, webpages etc for unpaid carers which supports inclusion and further development of the service Able to work closely with colleagues and volunteers to identify, plan, organise and evaluate peer support groups and peer mentoring for both adult and young carers. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded Events & Fundraising Lead join Quarriers and help us grow our fundraising, partnerships and events. This is no ordinary fundraising role. One day you could be building relationships with community groups and corporate partners, the next you could be bringing a conference to life, developing a new fundraising idea or showcasing William Quarrier Scottish Epilepsy Centre (WQSEC) as a fantastic venue for events and training. You’ll have the freedom to build connections, spot opportunities and make things happen – all while generating valuable income that supports the work of Quarriers and WQSEC. Growing community fundraising and developing new ways for people and organisations to support Quarriers. Building exciting relationships with supporters, businesses, NHS partners, charities, universities and community groups. Supporting volunteers and bringing people together around fundraising activities and events. Creating sponsorship and partnership opportunities that deliver real value. Promoting WQSEC’s conference, meeting and training facilities and helping to grow venue income. Taking events from the first enquiry through to the big day – coordinating bookings, catering, technology, room set-up and everything in between. Delivering a fantastic experience that keeps clients, supporters and partners coming back. Taking ownership of income generation, target achievement and performance, using creative approaches to maximise growth opportunities. You might already work in fundraising, events or business development – or you may have built your experience in a customer-focused commercial role. What matters most is that you’re a confident relationship-builder who enjoys variety, takes ownership and can turn opportunities into action. Experience in fundraising, business development, events management or customer relationship management. A natural ability to network, engage and build lasting relationships. Excellent organisation skills and the confidence to juggle different projects, events and deadlines. A creative, proactive approach and plenty of ideas. Strong communication and customer service skills. Experience of working towards financial or income-generation targets. Confidence using Microsoft Office and CRM or database systems. A full valid UK driving licence with access to your own car is essential. Charity-sector, venue or conference experience would be a bonus, as would experience of working with volunteers or using Raiser’s Edge – but don’t let that stop you applying if you have great transferable experience. This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week. We work in an agile way, so your week will be a blend of working from WQSEC in Glasgow, visiting communities and partners across Scotland, and working from home, depending on what you need to achieve. Fundraising and great events don’t always happen Monday to Friday, 9 to 5, so occasional evening and weekend working will be required to support events and fundraising activity.
